The Masters League is thrilled to announce the 2026 MIXED PAIRS Team Series!

This exciting new competition format invites two-person teams—comprising one male and one female athlete—from across Australia and around the globe to compete head-to-head across multiple divisions. Open to all levels, the Mixed Pairs Team Series is designed to foster camaraderie, showcase skill, and celebrate the spirit of competition on an international stage.

Whether you’re an experienced team or looking to step up to the challenge for the first time, this event promises thrilling matchups and an inclusive environment that brings together athletes from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

HOW IT WORKS: TEAM SERIES COMPETITION OVERVIEW

Start Date & Format
The Team Series competition kicks off on January 23, 2026, beginning as an online event, where mixed-pair teams (M/F) will compete in the Masters League Open. This phase includes all registered teams performing designated Open tests separately. The team captain is responsible for ensuring team scores are submitted by each event deadline.

Team Eligibility and Qualifications
Teams are composed of mixed pairs (M/F) and will be eligible to advance based on performance. Each division and age category from the Masters League Open will advance 15-20 teams to the next round, depending on the number of participants. Following the initial phase, a 5-day Online Invitational will be held from May 14-19, 2026, to further narrow down competitors. The top 10-12 teams from each division and age category from this Invitational will earn the opportunity to compete in the Masters League Games, scheduled for October 23-25, 2026.

Age and Division Eligibility
To register correctly, teams must meet specific age and division requirements:

  • If competing in the Soldier, Warrior, or Hero divisions, and one partner is aged 40-49 while the other is aged 35-39, the team should register in the 35-39 age group.
  • Age Qualification: Athletes turning 35 before October 31, 2026, qualify for the 35-39 age category, and similarly, those turning 40 by this date qualify for the 40-49 category.
  • Division Restrictions: Athletes are only allowed to compete within their registered divisions; e.g., Warrior athletes cannot compete in Soldier, and Hero athletes cannot compete in Warrior.

Team Composition
Athletes within a team are not required to reside in the same state; however, both members must compete together during the May Online Invitational. Individual athletes who qualify for the 2026 ML Games can also participate in the Team Series as mixed pairs at the ML Games.

Acceptable Within a Team Age Grouping Guidelines

If you are competing in the Soldier, Warrior, or Hero division with a teammate, and your ages fall into different age brackets, you must register in the age group of the younger team member. For example, if one team member is between the ages of 35-39 and the other is between 40-49, your team must register in the 35-39 age group to ensure fair competition.

This policy applies to all divisions and teams to maintain consistency in age-based categories.
